Golf Course Update 8.8.25

Fazio Aerification Week 1

Day 1 of aerification started with a welcomed rain event. We had to pivot from the original plan due to the greens being too wet to aerify, but rain is always a good thing in August. The August aerification closure allows the GCM Team time to aerify all playing surfaces and gives the golf courses relief from cart traffic. We are able irrigate throughout the day to promote growth as needed. Additional fertilizer is applied to all areas to prepare the golf course for a busy fall golf season.

Week 2 of the closure will focus on precision irrigation, bunker corrections, mowing patterns, and detail work. We are proud of the team for the hard work and long hours they endured this week to complete the aerification processes. The Fazio Course will open Saturday August 16th.

The Dye Course will begin aerification on August 18th and open on August 30th. We will follow the same plan that is currently underway on the Fazio Course.

Range Tee

The range tee will be on mats beginning August 12th and back on grass on August 26th. We are testing autonomous mowers during this time. You will likely see the mower during this timeframe if you visit the range. The mower will mow the tee every night before the irrigation starts. We will post video and updates as we go through the demonstration time.
