GCM Update 4-16-24

Overseed Transition  Ten straight months of above average temperatures and consistent rain events this spring has the golf courses slightly ahead of the calendar schedule. The GCM team has already dropped mowing heights to allow more sunlight to hit the soil which will encourage bermudagrass growth. This process is extremely critical to our transition from overseeding, and shifts the competitive advantage from the cool season grass (ryegrass) to the warm season grass (bermuda). All overseeded areas are currently mowed at 0.450" and we will slowly continue to work down until the bermuda has reached full growth potential. Drone Photos & Pigment Application - Dye Fairways

At times, there may not be enough "GCM News" to warrant an email blast, but we can blog progress pictures or just a few notes about a day in the life of GCM. Our website will be   www.stonebriaragronomy.com  and will be active within the next few days. We will send a communication once the site goes live. Weather vs Bermudagrass We have experienced several beautiful days of weather over the past two weeks, but Mother Nature always has a way of reminding us it is still February. Soil temperatures reached 60 degrees for the first time this year last Thursday. That is the soil temperature at which the bermudagrass will begin to break dormancy. We have seen some bermudagrass begin to green up, but we are still several weeks a...
